QUICK RECOVERY JANET IKUA

It has all caught us by surprise and we are all in deep sorrow. The gorgeous and well-spoken journalist Janet Kanini Ikua has been diagnosed with lung cancer stage 4. It's sad indeed. Why do bad things happen to good people? Who would have thought that the vibrant host of the N-Soko property show is permissible to diseases. I mean, look at how positive she is, following her recent exposure about her health status on Facebook. Who is so brave that they can not only tell us that they have been diagnosed with a terminal disease, but bring out some humour out of it?

I admire her optimism and her strong will to fight the disease. Ben Carson, a prominent surgeon, encourages his patients to be positive. He affirms us that when we are positive about our ailments, we tend to heal even faster. Our bodies respond far much faster to medication. I mean it has been seen and tested and it has to do with the hormones. There is this story that has been told to us since we were kids, there was a man who was captured and thrown into a fridge. He was so sure that he was going to die. I mean how can you be locked in a cold fridge for so many hours and survive? So his family looked everywhere and to their surprise he was in the fridge. They checked to see signs of life but sadly he was dead. Can you imagine that the fridge was off? If only he had not panicked, he would have lived.

Moral lesson is that it all starts in the mind. If you have purposed to pass your exams, you'll read hard. If you have purposed in your mind that you'll wake up at 3am to read, you will. Hear me out?
Janet has also purposed in her mind that she will live DESPITE! And I know with all the optimism, she will pull through. Because it all starts in the mind!

You are in our prayers Janet.
